Approach
In December 2015, ANT Construction and Development completed a demolition and asbestos removal project as part of the redevelopment at the Alice Springs Hospital ICU/HDU Ward. We are the principal sub- contractor to Lahey Constructions.
The works consisted of complete internal de-fit of the old Administration ward to establish a new ICU/HDU ward. Due to works being undertaken within an operating hospital, a delicate and sensitive approach was required. The planning details of this project were carried out with great detail, ensuring a smooth and successful completion without great disruption to the day-to-day operations of the hospital.
On the successful completion of the ICU/HDU internal de-fit we were awarded a second stage project at the Alice Springs Hospital for the refurbishment of the ICU and Decant Wards, including internal demolition and asbestos removal works as well as complete internal refit.
The project has progressed as per construction program and is running on time, thanks to our dedicated
Project Manager Bernie O’Connell.
The project has a total value of $2.75m and is expected to be completed in December 2017.
